The Reconstruction of Paleoenvironments using Non-Marine Ostracod Fossils
this is the subject and title for my paleontology project that i present on Thursday.
Basically after a lot of science talk, ostracods are fossils that tell us the temperature of the water when they were alive by secreting (releasing) carbonate and low magnesium calcite into the water so when we study these fossils by each sediment layer (in a lake for example) we can study the change in water temperature and this further gives us evidence for climate change back in the Holocene time period.
pretty cool foool
